The news has been circulating for a while that Acer is planning to join the mobile market for tablets, and now the rumors are turning out to be true after the Taiwanese company announced earlier in December the Iconia Tab A200 tablet. Russian site, NoMobile.ru, has released the pictures of the device.
Iconic Tab A200 is a 10.1-inch tablet, which runs Android 3.2 Honeycomb and is upgradeable to Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It has an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor clocked at 1 GHz. The Iconia Tab A200 has a 2 MP front camera, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, microUSB port, full USB port, a 3.5 mm AV port and a microSD slot.
The Iconia Tab A200 is expected to be debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show this month and will be available in stores the same month.
NoMobile.ru mentioned that Acer will also be releasing a much-powerful tablet, the Iconic Tab A700, which is to be powered by Nvidia Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1 GHz. The Russian site, which also makes available the pictures of the tablets, disclosed that the device will feature a 10.1-inch display, like its brother Iconic Tab A200, with a 1920 x 1200 resolution. It will also feature a SIM and microUSB slot, a micro-HDMI port and a dedicated rotation lock switch. The Iconic Tab A700, which is the more powerful of the two tablets, uses Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, has a 5 MP rear camera with LED and 3G support.
The Quad-Core Iconic Tab A700 will reportedly start arriving in stores in March. But no price has been made public for either of the two tablets from Acer.
